Classes We Offer

Hand Quilting
In this class, you will learn the basics skills of hand quilting, such as pinning, how to make binding, and different methods of connecting quilting layers. Students will create their own small quilt block where you can experiment with different quilting techniques. No prior experience is necessary.

Intuitive Quilting
In this class students will explore creative patchwork without traditional piecing, planning and measurement. Instead of traditional 9-patch or 12-patch patterns, we will create composition through intuitive use of color, shape, and pattern. You will learn some techniques and methods that can lend cohesion to your work as well as tips and tricks for measurement and curves. We will work with color, shape, and repetition. We will also explore inspiration for quilted works, and how we can pull from other art forms. This class is appropriate for both experienced and beginner quilters.
Quilting 101
In this class, students will learn the fundamental skills of quilt making. This class will teach general quilting terminology, introduction to the rotary cutter, how to sew and press block units and an overview of hand and machine quilting techniques. Students will be encouraged to experiment and play with color and composition.

Quilting 102
In this class, students will further learn the skills of quilt making. This class will teach specialty blocks such as double wedding ring, dresden plate, and introduce curves. Pre-requisites: Quilting 101 or equivalent experience
