Printing

In this course, students will learn the basics of Block Printing on paper and fabric. Students will learn carving techniques for rubber blocks, linoleum plates and wood blocks, how to print using dye pastes and inks, design fundamentals and how to create a repeat, and how to create multi-color prints.

Explore the beauty of printing with nature in this hands-on eco-printing workshop. Participants will learn how to transfer the colors and shapes of plants and flowers directly onto fabric using heat, pressure, and natural processes.

In this course, students will be taken through the basics of screen-printing on both fabric and paper. You'll learn to coat and expose a screen using photo-emulsion and an exposure unit, how to print with water based inks, the basic principles of color registration and make beautiful prints.

In this course, students will expand their knowledge of screen printing and print design, and learn various ways to create repeat patterns and how to print yardage on fabric. Pre-requisite: Screen Printing 101 or equivalent experience

In this class, students will further explore their knowledge of screen printing techniques through the use of natural dye to make print pastes, instead of synthetic dyes or inks. Students will focus on building their knowledge of using natural dyes for surface design through understanding of natural dyes, thickeners, resist pastes, mordants and proper setting. Pre-requisite: Screen Printing 101 or equivalent experience.
