Machine Knitting 101

In this class, students will learn the basics of machine knitting on their own individual Brother 864 standard gauge knitting machine. Students will learn the cast on and cast off processes, how to get a finished edge, how to increase and decrease, and garment finishing. Students will walk away with a finished project. Examples of past projects include: socks, tank tops, a hat, and a scarf.

 

Machine Knitting 101 is offered in a variety of formats. 4 - week and Weekend Intensives feature 12 hours of class time, plus free Open Studio time to practice techniques outside of class. Morning Series classes feature 6 hours of class time in the mornings with an abridged course-load of basics. Morning Series classes do not come with free Open Studio time.
