POGEK: (pronounced “POE-jeck”) is a parent-run group at PS 39 for caregivers and allies of trans, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming kids. What began as a small circle of parents looking for connection has grown into a supportive community that meets regularly to share experiences, exchange ideas, and collaborate on ways to make our school and neighborhood more inclusive and respectful for all kids.

Interference Archive - The mission of Interference Archive is to explore the relationship between cultural production and social movements. This work manifests in an open stacks archival collection, publications, a study center, and public programs including exhibitions, workshops, talks, and screenings, all of which encourage critical and creative engagement with the rich history of social movements.

Gowanus Mutual Aid; Solidarity, not charity

Mutual aid groups strive to create solidarity among community members by supporting each other’s needs. You can read more about the principles of mutual aid at Mutual Aid NYC.

Our work centers around, but is not limited to, the Gowanus, Brooklyn neighborhood. We serve neighbors here and in nearby Park Slope and South Slope. The perimeters of our area of focus are defined as Bond Street to the west, Prospect Park to the east, Wyckoff Street/St. Mark's Place to the north, and 24th Street/Greenwood Cemetery to the south.

GOWANUS MUTUAL AID; SOLIDARITY NOT CHARITY

This year to support local artisans, we’ll be granting space to selected vendors. In place of a fee, Vendors have collectively pledged $3200 in solidarity with Gowanus Mutual Aid. All fundraising for the event will benefit @gowanusmutualaid - chip in with suggested donations at the door! (CASH PREFERRED!)
