Textiles are made by many fibers, stitches, and layers interlaced together. The thinnest thread or smallest stitch each play an important role in supporting the textile. Our community of artists is like a textile in this way, the whole supports the individual and the individual contributes to the integrity of the whole. As a community funded arts organization we value the the support of our students, artists and community members to further our collective mission and dreams.
This March, we organized the Small Works / Big Impact fundraiser exhibition to support our Artist in Residence Scholarship Fund. Over 30 artists donated their work, we curated the exhibition, sent the invites, and got the drinks and snacks, but Covid-19 cancelled the silent auction party.
Seven months later, we are launching the Small Works/Big Impact Online Auction, open for bidding from December 1 -14.
This holiday season, be a patron of the arts and put your $$$ towards businesses and artists that inspire you. Gifting artwork is a forever treat - never goes out of style, you can't have too much of it; and it will become an heirloom for future generations.
Small Works Auction rules are simple: see something you love, bid on it. Someone outbid you? Bid again! The first 20 bidders will enter a raffle for one $100 Gift Certificate for a TAC at Home class.
The TAC AIR Scholarship Fund grants free tuition to one artist or designer working with textiles. Scholarship recipients demonstrate commitment to their art practice, identify with a historically underrepresented community in the arts and/or state the need for financial assistance to participate in the program and advance their artistic practice.
