Tapestry Weaving

Have you already taken Tapestry 101 and want to know more? In this intermediate workshop students will review fundamental tapestry and pile weaving techniques while also learning how to create new textures and shapes. Students should have a basic knowledge of tapestry weaving prior to participating in this workshop, including how to warp a tapestry loom and weave plain weave.

Tapestry weaving is an ancient technique used by many cultures to create fabrics for clothes and furnitures, and wall hangings. In our tapestry weaving classes, students will learn the basics of tapestry weaving, how to plan and design a tapestry project, and traditional and contemporary tapestry techniques.

In this class students will also learn how to build a loom of any size and have time to plan out future tapestries that they can complete after the class. Students should have a basic knowledge of tapestry weaving prior to participating in this workshop, including how to warp a tapestry loom and weave plain weave. Pre-requisite: Tapestry 101 or equivalent experience.
