On December 11 & 12 from 12-7pm Textile Arts Center’s Brooklyn Studio (505 Carroll Street, Brooklyn, NY) will be transformed into our fifth annual Give Back Holiday Market, a holiday shopping experience dedicated to supporting artisans and the social causes we believe in.
Each year the Give Back Holiday Market is a great success due to community efforts and incredible talent. We have raised thousands to date for worthy causes in what has become an annual tradition.
TAC will be fundraising with drop in Textile Workshops, programming, AIR Open Studios and artisan markets throughout this joyful weekend.
**Proceeds from GBM & suggested(sliding scale) entrance fees will be donated to Gowanus Mutual Aid.
Gowanus Mutual Aid; Solidarity, not charity
Mutual aid groups strive to create solidarity among community members by supporting each other’s needs. You can read more about the principles of mutual aid at Mutual Aid NYC.
Our work centers around, but is not limited to, the Gowanus, Brooklyn neighborhood. We serve neighbors here and in nearby Park Slope and South Slope. The perimeters of our area of focus are defined as Bond Street to the west, Prospect Park to the east, Wyckoff Street/St. Mark's Place to the north, and 24th Street/Greenwood Cemetery to the south.
NOW LETS GIVE BACK!
This year to support local artisans, we’ll be granting space to selected vendors. In place of a fee, Vendors commit to donating $200 to the featured partner Gowanus Mutual Aid.
