About Textiles for Teens

Textiles for Teens is a pilot program at the Textile Arts Center exploring Sewing + Fashion through the lens of textile and fiber processes.

Throughout each week long class we will offer an exploratory approach to manipulating textiles. Students will try their hand at unusual dye techniques, experimental weaving on their own looms, and draw inspiration from the world around them to create original garments.

Students will walk away with a wearable garment that is completely their own, from initial sketch to final embellishment.

Teens classes take place in our Artist Residency studios. Students will share a studio with a partner, using the walls for mood and inspiration boards and engaging in critical dialogue for an experience they won't get anywhere else.
