Basket Weaving 101

Learn the basics of basket weaving: different natural materials, types of baskets, and how to shape and weave a basket. Students will work on a variety of projects, exploring different basket weaving techniques, such as twinning, ribbing, plaiting.


Basket Weaving 101 is offered in a variety of formats. 4 - week and Weekend Intensives feature 12 hours of class time, plus free Open Studio time to practice techniques outside of class. Morning Series classes (listed as Intro to Basket Weaving) feature 6 hours of class time in the mornings with an abridged course-load of basics. Morning Series classes do not come with free Open Studio time.


Basket Making - After Workshops

The After Workshops are a series of high quality hands-on classes, at low cost and low commitment. Materials, skills and fun supplied. Classes cover a variety of techniques. All skill levels welcome. Plus they are BYOB. Below are a list of upcoming After Workshops in Basket Making:



In this workshop participants will reinterpret the ancient technique of coiliing using modern materials easily found in the hardware and yarn store.  Create vibrantly patterned, sturdy, heirloom quality bowls and vessels.
