Sewing Seeds Spring ’13 Fundraiser: A NIGHT OF COLOR

It’s official – Spring is here and Sewing Seeds have a solid date with a solid party plan for raising money to grow out and give knowledge at the Bergen St Community Garden while supporting our artist in residency for August!

We are working around the clock to make this an event you don’t want to miss! It will be wise to buy a ticket in advance, as space is limited and tickets are only $20. Come by on April 26th, 2013 – 7pm to midnight and there will be tickets at the door (if space is available) for $25.

Along with helping fund our community-based program, the ticket price will enter you in a raffle for one of 7 amazing, one-of-a-kind silk scarves, naturally dyed by especially talented local designers with option to purchase more tickets to double your luck! Artists include Adrienne Anthonson (STATE), Audrey Louise Reynolds, Tara St James (Study NY), Ilana Kohn, Erin Considine, Titania Inglis, and SHABD – pictures to follow!

Aesthetic vision by Frank Traynor of theperfectnothingcatalog: imagine all of your senses indulged and giving you tingles as you are visually stimulated, getting painted with naturally dyed body paints, eating and drinking naturally dyed fare, getting a color / aura consultation, hearing and feeling great music, not to mention all of the lovely, soft, dyed material your hands can touch.  There will also be an exclusive and special interactive performance by Study NY and Cat lauigan of Cave Collective with limited edition run of garments and surprise treats!

Celebrate spring with the Textile Arts Center and Sewing Seeds; you will simultaneously support free education on traditional use of natural dyes and space for artists to share their creations.
