Monday Morning Inspiration: Margo Wolowiec

Another day, another artist crush.

Although I am still going through my Eva Hesse and Sharon Etgar phase, I am absolutely mesmerized by Margo Wolowiec. I was recently introduced to the technique “glitch knitting“, and although Margo weaves, her distorted pieces are completely in line with that concept and technique…it’s like trying to make sense out of bad cable. I love it.

Coincidentally, while working on this post I found that back in 2011 Owyn wrote an Inspiration Post on Margo, when she was a visiting critic for our AiR program! It’s always so interesting looking at what an artist is creating now and comparing (it) to what they were creating then…I suggest looking at Owyn’s post – it’s quite fascinating seeing the transitions Margo has made in her work!

If I were you, I would take some of this wild inspiration and check out our weaving courses, as well as our new Morning Classes series! …do I see a few tapestry classes coming up??
